| The Workers |
| Biography |
The Workers are 5 good friends who work and live together, and play music together in The Workers band. We hope you have fun exploring and learning – just like The Workers.
The Workers are five characters that are easily identifiable and inspirational to young children -Policeman ‘Ben’, Builder ‘Jon’, Doctor ‘Marcy’, Fireman ‘Ross’ and Ballerina ‘Beth’. The Workers are parents of young children, qualified Primary School teachers with over 40 years of combined experience that they draw upon when creating their unique songs.
The Workers have deliberately incorporated real world objects, language , people, places, music, sounds and rhythms that we know are important to kids— and in doing so providing parents with an opportunity to expose young children to the world around them in a meaningful and genuine way.
There is a lot research in our world that indicates strong links between music and improved developmental ability. Music develops children's sense of patterning and memory skills as well as allowing them the opportunity to express themselves, physically and emotionally.
Music has been shown to significantly assist language development. Children's experiences with lyrics and words help to build vocabulary, listening skills, and language acquisition. Remember those nursery rhymes from your own childhood? Why did she cut off their tails with a carving knife? Go ask Builder Jon!
Research shows that both the left and right sides of the brain are activated when we sing, even out of tune and with questionable melody! And the activity of singing stimulates both new learning and memory. We want to help make a difference in your children’s lives, by providing them with positive messages using a strong educational focus.
We look forward to seeing you soon when we’re out and about!
